This drum sample pack was recorded on an old Jinbao kit, in Badie’s last house in Bengaluru.
One of the interesting parts about the sound of this kit is the snare setup; a stacked 10 inch Tama tom on top of the stock 14 inch snare drum. And, with the addition of a tea towel we have 2 distinct snare sounds. The Hi-hats used are a Sabian XS20 and a Zildjian K-custom.
The microphone setup is fairly simple: A Rode NT1A for the full kit room, placed behind the drum kit. For the snare, we used a Shure SM57 for the top and a sennheiser for the bottom. The floor tom was a cheap Ashton microphone.
